The educational videos became an instant favourite among Pakistani students on TikTok, garnering over 665 million views and nearly 100 million video creations since their release. Partnering with one of Pakistan’s premier institutions, LUMS, the duo will further cement the partnership by awarding students with two months of free Edkasa study materials and access to an exam pack for any grade/board/exam of their choice.
Farah Tukan, Head of Government Relations and Public Policy at TikTok – Middle East, Turkey, Africa, Pakistan and South Asia (METAPSA), said: “TikTok is a platform that offers diverse content across multiple categories and education remains a key industry for us.
We are happy to play our part in promoting literacy nationally to have a positive impact on the next generation in Pakistan.” Fahad Tanveer, co-founder and CEO of Edkasa, said, “We are delighted to see the huge interest and acceptance of students for educational materials on TikTok.
Pakistan needs this kind of innovative and quality content that helps our young demographic compete with the rest of the world.” Scholarships will be awarded in accordance with the criteria and guidelines set jointly by Edkasa and LUMS, in alignment and agreement with the campaign’s online guide, TikTok. The scholarships target disadvantaged communities and are open to students across Pakistan. The aim is to reach out to Pakistani students who are hindered by a lack of access to quality education.
